Hotshots 2024 Spring Season

14U Stars/Stripes Teams (7th/8th) - REGISTRATION ALMOST FULL!
The Hotshots 14U STARS (A) & STRIPES (B) teams participate in a spring youth recreation lacrosse league called the SCLA (Southern California Lacrosse Association). The league is comprised of youth programs primarily from northern LA County. Most of these programs are true community-based programs like Hotshots.

The SCLA divides teams into age (grade) groups and skill levels: Stars (A) and Stripes (B). Depending upon the number of our participants, we may have more than one team in an age group, with one team comprised of the more experienced players (Stars) and the other with players that might just getting started or players that need more time to develop (Stripes) before facing more challenging and skilled teams.  We will assess the boys in practices before and during the season, to make sure they are on the correct team and in the right Division.

Before playing in our Spring Program, we prefer that
players that are new to lacrosse have attended an Ignite Beginner Clinic and a few Training Sessions so they are adequately prepared to experience some success in a competitive setting.  However, if you are sure your son will enjoy lacrosse and you are ready to jump in with him, sign him up!

All Hotshots players (K-8) must provide their own lacrosse equipment for the Spring Season.  We do not lend equipment for season play.

SCLA GAMES
14U League games are on Saturdays from March 9th through April 29th.  SCLA Games are played in Arroyo Vista Community Park in Moorpark.   We play doubleheaders so that we are not traveling to Moorpark every weekend.

Certified Lacrosse Parent
What it means...
An online class to help the lacrosse community and parents navigate the sidelines better and put the focus back on our kids having fun.

Advantages of a Certified Parent
The purpose of our endeavor is Lacrosse Specific education around the positive approach to being a lacrosse parent

What CLP Offers
The Sideline Pass: a 30 min course to educate and teach parents appropriate sideline behavior towards coaches, officials and the Parent, without judgement… Lacrosse parents are the best. Our goal is to bring awareness to the issues, reset expectations and

educate. We've done the research, offering Tips, data, resources, videos and lessons all together in one place.

Who Benefits? Our children, first and foremost, but your team and program, the coaches, the officials and of course the Parents. Not only do the parents who take the course become more self aware but they can advocate for more a positive sideline culture in the stands.

Q: Where is this course being offered? In the Hotshots Registration!

Equipment
All players must provide their own lacrosse equipment to participate in the Hotshots Spring Program.
Hotshots loaner equipment is designed to be used for either those in financial need or for "Try Lacrosse" opportunities.  This equipment is necessary to have on hand so we can come to your school and introduce the lacrosse to new players and help grow the game!
We believe it's important to invest in your son's lacrosse experience and we can help direct you to many affordable options.
If you are looking to purchase lacrosse equipment, please CLICK HERE to view our recommendations.
In addition to lacrosse equipment, all players must have a molded mouthpiece and lacrosse/football/soccer cleats to be worn at every practice and every game.  Athletic cups are recommended but optional.
