SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA LACROSSE ASSOCIATION (SCLA) SPRING LEAGUE

Our older Hotshots teams participate in a youth recreation lacrosse league in the spring called the SCLA (Southern California Lacrosse Association). League members include programs from Agoura, Newbury Park, Westlake, Simi Valley, San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Pasadena. These programs are community-based programs like us.

The SCLA divides teams into age (grade) groups and skill levels: Stars (A) and Stripes (B). Depending upon the number of our participants, Hotshots may have more than one team in a Division, with one team comprised of the more experienced players (Stars) and the other with players that might just getting started or players that need more time to develop (Stripes) before facing more challenging and skilled teams.  We assess the boys in practices before and during the season, to make sure they are on the correct team and in the right division level.
14U & 12U Players (5th-8th Grade)
  • Games at Arroyo Vista Community Park, Moorpark (approximately 6 doubleheader SATURDAYS in March through early May)
  • Players from SB and SYV will be placed on a team of Hotshots to compete in SCLA.
  • For more information about the Southern California Lacrosse Association (SCLA) click here.
  • Advanced 12U and 10U players from SYV may be selected to travel and play with select Santa Barbara 12U/10U and compete in the SCLA.

What is the SBLA?
Founded in 2010, Santa Barbara Lacrosse Association, Inc., a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, was established to provide area youth an opportunity to learn and play North America's first sport.  Santa Barbara Lacrosse Association is renewing its commitment to foster the growth of the sport of lacrosse regionally, by creating more opportunities for young people to pick up a stick and play. The SBLA is committed to working in concert with existing lacrosse programs (like Hotshots for boys and Mission Lacrosse Club for girls) and other organizations who are dedicated to furthering the growth of youth lacrosse in Santa Barbara County.

We believe it's important to invest in your son's lacrosse experience and we can help direct you to many affordable options.

If you are looking to purchase lacrosse equipment, please CLICK HERE to view our recommendations.

In addition to lacrosse equipment, all players must have a molded mouthpiece and lacrosse/football/soccer cleats to be worn at every practice and every game.  Athletic cups are recommended but optional.
