IGNITE is a series of practices that are designed to introduce lacrosse to boys (SB & SYV) and girls (SYV only) in Kinder-8th grade.  Clinics will incorporate basic skill development for players looking to try lacrosse for the first time.  Each practice will build on the skills learned from the last.

Eligibility: Participants must not have participated in a previous Hotshots Ignite Beginner Clinic Series or Training Session.  All players must be new to the sport, our Program, and to this Clinic Series to register.

 

Players will be grouped by grade and ability level and have an opportunity to work with the best coaching staff in Santa Barbara and the Santa Ynez Valley.

These carefully programmed sessions are intended to provide first-time players with proper instruction in the basic lacrosse fundamentals - holding the stick, picking up ground balls, cradling, catching, throwing, dodging, defending and shooting.

​

After one or two of these sessions, most participants are ready to play wall ball on their own and progress into our skill clinic series.

​

Beginner Clinics are held at various times throughout the year, but can also be organized upon request for small groups of kids interested in learning the game together with friends.

Equipment: Lacrosse equipment can be reserved during Clinic registration at no additional cost.

 

Choose the dates the player can attend in Registration.  We encourage new players to attend all practices dates to receive the full benefit of the clinic and the experience.
