Fall 2020 Training Sessions Overview
We are all adjusting to this new normal and we thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we safely return to play. Elings Park strictly follows the guidelines of the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department and our Return to Play plan was the reason why we have been chosen to be the first sports program to resume play at the Park since the shutdown in March due to COVID-19.
When County guidelines are adjusted to allow for contact and normal practices, we will alter our practice plan accordingly. In the meantime, our Fall Training Sessions will provide high level instruction focusing on building and maintaining stick-work, footwork, shooting, conditioning and more. We will ensure that our participants are ready to perform at their highest level when high school or regular Hotshots club practices resume.
To be transparent and to avoid confusion that seems to be out there among our lacrosse playing families, contact is not allowed in ANY sport at ANY facility (including Earl Warren) in Santa Barbara County which includes lacrosse, football, and hockey. We hope this changes as we progress through the fall but realistically we do not see us playing in games or in a league in Santa Barbara until late this Fall and perhaps not until the beginning of 2021. We hope we are wrong.
Training will be twice a week. We will be sending out custom groups once all registrations are received. Players will be grouped into Pods by position, ability, and grade level. Players will stay in same Pods for duration of the Session.
Lacrosse equipment cannot be shared and players are responsible for providing their own equipment. Helmets, gloves, cleats, and a lacrosse stick are required. All players must have a clearly marked water bottle with their name on it.
