2022 Spring Season
For the inaugural season for the SYV Hotshots, we will schedule independent games with Santa Barbara Hotshots, Ventura Pirates, SLO 805, Bakersfield Rams and potentially some LA or Santa Clarita Valley teams. All of these programs are true community-based programs like us.

Our goal this Spring is to have 1 - 2 teams: K-2 Grade (called Flames) and some combination of grades between 3-8th grade (examples: 3rd-4th or 3rd-5th or 5th-6th, 6th-8th, 7th-8th)

Before playing this Spring Season, we require players to have attended an Ignite Beginner's Clinic and a few Training Sessions so they are adequately prepared to experience some success in a competitive setting.  We also use this time to make sure the player likes the sport before the parents invest in the necessary equipment to play.

In the league closest to us, the age groups are typically split up this way:
U10 - 3rd-4th Grade
U12 - 5th-6th Grade
U14 - 7th-8th Grade

In the Spring of 2022 however, we will organize one team of 3-5th graders and one team of K-2nd graders (called Flames).

As we grow in numbers over the years, there may come a time when it makes sense for us to have two teams in an age group - maybe a 5th-6th developmental team and a second team comprised of mostly experienced 6th graders.

Team (3rd-5th Grade) practices are held once each week on Thursday from 4:45-6:15 PM.  Practices would be held at Sunny Fields but may be scheduled at Dunn or elsewhere in SYV.

Flames (K-2nd Grade) practice and play their games once per week, also on Thursdays at Sunny Fields from 3:30-4:30 PM.

Games are on Saturday afternoons or early Sunday afternoons from March 3 through the weekend of May 14/15th.  Games would be scheduled to be played in SYV, Santa Barbara, Ventura and SLO.  A typical lacrosse season sees about 6-8 games, however we try to schedule more than that if possible and if the schedule allows.

There are fees involved with Spring League participation. These fees help our organization to reduce the cost of team uniforms, helmet decals, League Team Fees, referees, field lining and equipment, liability insurance, and coaches travel expenses and stipend for their time.

2022 SYV Spring Season Player Fee (3-8th Grade) is $325.

Splitting up the Player Fee into 2-4 payments is possible however we ask that the full fee be paid during registration if able.  No player will be left behind.  Refunds or partial refunds are made on a case by case basis.  $100 of the player fee is non-refundable as it is used to pay for unrecoverable hard costs like league fees, uniforms, etc. that are placed in February.

Scholarships are available and granted on a case by case basis. If you would like to donate money to be put towards scholarshipping athletes, please contact us.

All players must provide their own lacrosse equipment to participate in the Hotshots Spring Program.

Hotshots loaner equipment is designed to be used for "Try Lacrosse" opportunities.  This equipment is necessary to have on hand so we can come to your school and introduce the lacrosse to new players and help grow the game!

We believe it's important to invest in your son's lacrosse experience and we can help direct you to many affordable options.

In addition to lacrosse equipment, all players must have a molded mouthpiece and lacrosse/football/soccer cleats to be worn at every practice and every game.  Athletic cups are recommended but optional.
