Hotshots Counter Strike Cup
From the creator of "Quik Stix", the Hotshots are excited to introduce the most competitive 3 vs 3 and 4 vs 4 tournament in Santa Barbara: Counter Strike!
What is Counter Strike?
Counter Strike is either 3v3 (youth) or 4v4 (high school) lacrosse on a shortened field using 4' x 4' lacrosse goals. Teams will be made up of 5-6 players. Games are 8 minutes long and each team plays 5 games in roughly 60 minutes. Each crew plays 3 pool play games, then 2 playoff games.
How are the Hotshot Crews formed?
Each Saturday we will scramble the kids up into teams (Crews), so every team, each week, has a random chance to win it all.
Why should we play Counter Strike?
3 vs 3 and 4 vs 4 lacrosse teaches kids of all ability levels how to play in transition and forces them to have soft hands in order to catch a much lighter ball than they are used to. In addition, they are running non-stop for almost 60 minutes and getting many valuable touches on the ball in a short period of time. We want the kids to learn to react to situations quickly, whether it be on offense or defense.
What are the rules?
There are no body checks, however controlled stick checks are allowed. Substitutions are on the fly. There are more rules but we'll explain them to the players. It's very easy to pick up.
We will create divisions depending on number of registrants each week. We'll split the youth kids up based on size and ability to make it safe, fun, and competitive.
